Does your daughter struggle with body image?

The culture of body loathing and body shaming is a global epidemic. We are constantly bombarded with unrealistic images of “beauty”, ultimately leading to unhealthy relationships with our own bodies as our expectations for how we "should" look become increasingly distorted. We hold ourselves to the unachievable ideals that are fed to us by the media. We compare our ‘just got out of bed hair and face’ to the photoshopped images of models and celebrities and compare our just-had-a-massive-feast-of-pasta-and-dessert-bloated stomach to filtered Instagram selfies taken at just the right angle.

The Body Image Movement is a quest to redefine and rewrite the ideals of beauty. The movement aims to facilitate positive body image activism by encouraging women to be more accepting of who they are, to use positive language regarding their bodies and others to teach women to truly appreciate and believe in their real beauty and stop wanting the fake bodies that only exist in the glossy pages of magazines and social media.
